Cambridge School Noida conducted an orientation programme for the parents of students of Class IX in the Roma Deb Auditorium. Parents and students were accorded a warm welcomeby Ms.Nandita Sinha Roy, VP (Academics). In her welcome address she emphasised upon the need for proactive and meaningful interactions between the teachers’ and parents for the holistic development of the students. She briefed the parents regarding the mode of preparations and approach to be adopted by the students for Board Exams. She also added that the school is striving towards developing different strategies to help students to cope and achieve their best. This was followed by a soulful rendition of the famous hymn ‘Vaishnav Jan to……’ by Kshitij Bedi. A mesmerising Kathak Dance performance by AroojaTyagi was well appreciated by the audience. A documentary highlighting the mission, vision and the ultimate aim of Cambridge Group of Schools ‘We learn to Serve’ was screened. Co-ordinators of Classes IX and X, Ms. Kiran Sibal and Ms.Puneet Kaur briefed the parents about the school’s guidelines and code of conduct. Comprehensive information on the CBSE evaluation pattern, revised changes in the curriculum, health and physical education, vocational subjects and the promotion criteria were shared with the parents. Ms. Rachna Arora proudly announced that Cambridge School, Noida is one of the few schools to have received a grant to set up ‘Atal Tinkering Lab’ which not only fosters creativity, curiosity, innovation and hands on experience but also hones the life skills and thinking skills of students. Ms. Roomki Mitra (Special Educator) informed the parents about the diverse range of services available for children with special needs in the school. She stressed that the process of inclusion is an ongoing practice sensitising teachers and peer groups. Ms. Garima Seth the School Counsellor emphasized the need for counselling to provide support and guidance to students through individual and group therapy sessions. This was followed by an interactive session wherein the specific concerns raised by the parents were addressed by Ms Nandita Sinha Roy (VP Academics). She stressed that PTMs should be taken seriously as it keeps one connected with the school. She thanked the parents for their presence and valuable feedback and suggestions.
